Scrunch

After visiting Europe I had a different out look on my art making. I had seen the most amazing art and architecture, been exposed to the wealth of religion and filled my memory of the centuries of history. One of the aspects of this that I really related to was the Baroque style. This era was dripping in opulence, but it was the drama and movement in the paintings and sculpture of this time that really struck me. I saw excess everywhere, in draping fabric, compositions, muscles, colour and structure. These works are largely influenced on this era.

After searching through fabric shops I started to think about the light in my paintings and how I could enhance this with the use of certain fabrics or plastics. Painting without paint. I really loved luxury that these pieces created. I explored ideas around 'excess' and how I could really push that.

These are a few random experiments.....
