These skins are just the tip of the iceberg. If i could pour paint over everything I own then i would. I have so much faith in the medium to create something amazing every time. It is truly magic when you put all these different types of paints together and watch them interact and repel each other. I know that alchemy is a very out dated and romantic concept but i believe that it relates a lot to my work. I try to create something so beautiful from a very mundane and primarily industrial (non art making) material.
Making these paintings gives me a chance to combine a pallet of discordant colours that would normal make people cringe. I get a lot of satisfaction when i can take a fleshy pink, a bright orange or forest green and make them work together.
